Vivi Budapest Association won the ERASMUS+ adult education mobility project
Learning Italian folk dances and folk music
The Vivi Budapest Association applied for the ERASMUS+ adult education mobility project for the first time in 2022 and can already be counted among the shortlisted applicants.
The project "Learning popular dances and Italian popular music" received a grant of 23,410 Euros. The 18 month support period begins on March 1, 2023 and ends on August 31, 2024.
Our cooperating partners are the Cultural Association World Music Academy ETS (Puglia), Cultural Association Taranta Popular Traditions (Florence) and Macomer Popular Traditions Folk Association (Sardinia).
The aim of the project is for the members of the Vivi Budapest Association to participate in Italian folk dance and folk music trainings in Italy, learn as many different Italian folk dances as possible, as well as instrumental and vocal folk music, so that their music and dance events are even more high-quality and diverse. A long-term goal is to manage a folk dance group and an orchestra of Italian folk music in Budapest.
Tambourine course
We organize the tambourine course to promote Italian folk music and to be able to create an Italian folk music group that accompanies the dance events and shows of the Vivi Budapest Association.
The course consists of 3 lessons with the tambourine teacher of the Pizzica School of San Vito, Vincenzo Gagliani, and 3 practice opportunities.
8 people can participate in the course free of charge. They will be selected among those requesting enrollment, taking into account the following selection criteria:

knowledge of the Italian language

the commitment in the Vivi Budapest Association

musical talent, sense of rhythm, diligence
At the end of the course the best tambourine player will be selected to participate in the artistic residency Coreutica 2023 in Salento (funded by the project) to continue improving the skills of playing the tambourine.

Tambourines

by renting an instrument from the Association for 1,500 HUF / occasion

renting an instrument from the Association to use at home for the duration of the 3 courses for 10,000 HUF + 30,000 HUF security deposit (refundable upon returning the instrument to perfect condition)

buying a tambourine from the Association

in case someone does not have the possibility to pay the occasional rental, the Association could lend one free of charge

Course place
The course will take place in the premises of the Vivi Budapest Association by connecting online with the tambourine teacher of the Pizzica School of San Vito. For those who do not have the opportunity to participate personally, we will organize the possibility of connecting online.

This summer "Estadanza"celebrates its 40th year of activity as the first residential summer review of the study and practice of Italian popular dances (organized by Taranta Cultural Association Popular Traditions ).
Two editions are organized every year to deepen the dances of two different regions. It is a group dance experience among scholars of the sector, new friendships and surprising human and environmental contexts.
This year the first edition will be organized in Mormanno (CS).
With the 'Erasmus+ | Let's learn Italian folk dances and folk music' we have the possibility to send 2 people to the artistic residency. The 2 participants will be selected among the applicants for membership received by 31 May 2023.
